Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Raya originally had a passion for acting. Beginning at age 9, Raya reached out to local agencies in Austin. She sent them her school picture and was told that a “headshot” was a necessity. After getting her headshots, she landed a talent agent for kids. She starred in school plays, local industrial films, and a TV movie. In high school, her primary focus was education. At 18, she moved to Los Angeles for school and to pursue acting further.
Since moving to California, Raya has participated in numerous independent productions, multiple music videos, and found that modeling is also something she has a natural ability for. She received her SAG-AFTRA membership for work on a union web series. While pursuing acting, Raya has been able to finish up her college career with a degree in Finance. Raya lived the “City Girl” lifestyle in Los Angeles and understood the importance of enjoying life, but maintaining a healthy bank account.
After a family loss, Raya made her way back to Austin, Texas. She has obtained an agency in Texas and continues to actively audition, act and model. Raya has also been able to turn her passion for finance and fashion into a business. Raya founded City Girl Savings in 2014 as an online resource for women to become financially independent and maintain a healthy and fashionable lifestyle. Since the launch of City Girl Savings in January of 2015, the site has over 1,700 members, and Raya has become the company’s Financial Consultant, providing financial coaching, personalized budgets, and general guidance to over 30 women.
In addition to running City Girl Savings, Raya also serves as a board member for a small oil company named RayTex Operating, Inc. started by her and her brother. RayTex operates 4 oil-producing wells in the Serbin fields of Giddings, Texas.
As time goes by, Raya continues to work hard to make sure all of her goals can and will be accomplished.
